A Project Accountant is in charge of overseeing the financial elements of a single project or group of projects. They collaborate closely with project managers to create and monitor project budgets, as well as to guarantee that all project costs are appropriately accounted for. They keep track of project expenses, evaluate financial data, and give cost analyses to help project managers make decisions. They also oversee the project’s financial operations, such as accounts payable and receivable, as well as billing and invoicing.

Job Summary

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Financial.
  Maintain correct
• accounting records for all allocated tasks.
• Cost tracking with the capacity to reduce expenses to boost project profitability.
• Monthly staff and equipment allocations are recorded based on input from the Operations Department.
• Help the Project Controller/Project Manager in appropriately accounting for monthly costs and revenue recognition.
• Help with the creation of weekly, monthly, and quarterly project reports, ensuring that all deadlines are met.
• In collaboration with the Project Controller/Project Manager, create monthly project predictions.
• Handling cash and forecasting cash flow.
• Verify that all project reports correctly reconcile with Oracle accounting entries.

Additional Responsibilities

• When needed, participate in company accounting/administrative tasks.
• Participate actively in the implementation and enhancement of the company’s Integrated Management System.
• Discuss project issues with internal and external auditors.
