Use props and/or items to provide massage services to guests. Provide visitors body treatments including scrubbing, wraps, and/or hydrotherapy. Before commencing service, assess the needs of the client and enquire about any contraindications (for example, allergies, high blood pressure, and pregnancy). Be abreast with contemporary techniques and modalities in their field of practice. Assist visitors in getting to and from treatment rooms. Set up the workstation, the treatment room, and/or the draperies. Throughout the service, check in with the visitor frequently to ensure their comfort, safety, and security. Advertise and market spa/salon services, as well as spa-related retail products.
Tools must be cleaned, maintained, and sterilized. Throughout the shift, keep the workstation and/or treatment room clean, dispose of garbage and dirty linens, and secure supplies and equipment. During the day, keep an eye on the clock and stick to it. Address improper guest behavior by implementing Marriott International standard operating procedures for Inappropriate behavior for guests and therapists, which includes discontinuing a treatment or service and contacting a supervisor/manager. Keep current skills and licensure in the service area in accordance with regional criteria. Notify the management of any accidents, injuries, or harmful working circumstances; complete safety training and certifications.
Observe all corporate regulations and procedures; maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance; preserve the confidentiality of sensitive information; and safeguard company assets. Greet and acknowledge all guests in accordance with corporate standards; anticipate and handle guests’ service requirements; and express genuine gratitude to guests. Communicate with people in a straightforward and professional manner.
Create and keep strong working connections with others. Long periods of standing, sitting, or walking; grasping, turning, and manipulating items of variable size and weight. Without help, move, lift, carry, push, pull, and position things weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds. Fine motor abilities and hand-eye coordination are required to grasp, turn, and move items of different size and weight. Such acceptable employment obligations as assigned by supervisors.
