Job Summary

Leading Landscape and Irrigation Contractor in Dubai wants skilled and qualified Accountant to execute professional-level accounting work in fiscal record maintenance and review. The role necessitates a thorough understanding of basic accounting principles and accounting activities in the construction sector.

Responsibilities

  • Create projects in Xero/Project Module using WBS structures; insert authorized owner contract change orders; and evaluate owner contracts.
  • If appropriate, prepare and maintain cash flow assessments, and review monthly financial accounts (balance sheet, income statement, and statement of cash flows)
  • Maintaining a computerized accounting system, backup control, aiding accounting personnel with issues, and creating computer reports and statements are all responsibilities.
  • Download/populate/upload and reconcile transaction and payment records, budgets, subcontracts, job costs, bonds, certificates of insurance, releases of liens, payables/receivable records, purchase orders, and change orders to Xero Accounting Systems from Construction ERP, HR, IT, Operations, Inventory, Sales, Procurement, and Fleet Management Platforms.
  • Using generally accepted accounting standards (GAAP) to financial data analysis and the preparation of external and management-based financial reports
  • Keep track of account receivables, deposits, prepaid/accrued charges, and monthly reconciliation and payment processing of credit card statements and revolving credit accounts.
  • Keep adequate documentation and records of all corporate transactions in the general ledger and other linked accounts, and generate collection and billing reports.
  • Examine monthly job cost reports and project cost tracking reports for correctness and alignment; make any revisions and updates; and generate final project cost tracking reports upon conclusion of the job.
  • Regularly review the General Ledger to ensure that cost codes are being utilized correctly, and add new ledger accounts or transaction codes to guarantee correctness and conformity with the company’s defined accounting standards.
  • Manage fixed asset data and decide on depreciation terms/rates for capitalized items.
  • In charge of the creation of interim, year-end, and comparative financial reports, as well as providing analysis of current outcomes in relation to preceding periods and/or budgets.
  • Monitor and manage the inventory control process. Coordination of physical inventory and weekly cycle counts, investigation of deviations and resolution of related issues

Job Requirements

  • Accounting experience for complicated company entities, preferably a parent organization with several subsidiaries
  • Experience with construction cost accounting procedures and software systems such as Xero, Corecon, and Procore is required.
  • Comprehensive understanding of standard costing and associated rates, as well as the ability to create and manage a cost accounting system with verifiable and accurate reporting
  • An ability for mathematical analysis, critical thinking, and sophisticated data analysis features in Microsoft Excel, including macros, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, INDEX MATCH, and SUMIF.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience, particularly in the construction industry, with a focus on cost accounting and MIS/financial reporting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting from an approved university, preferably with a major in Cost Accounting.
  • Good English verbal and written communication skills are required, and knowledge of the local language is advantageous.
  • Must be able to multitask, operate under pressure, and meet deadlines in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
