A company’s financial operations and accounting personnel are overseen by an Accounting Manager, who ensures accurate financial records, timely financial reporting, and compliance with financial requirements. Accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations are among the financial processes and procedures they oversee. They create and administer accounting rules and processes, as well as evaluate financial data to help businesses make choices. They develop and analyze financial statements, budgets, and projections, as well as providing financial advise to other departments. They also manage accounting personnel, conduct performance assessments, and ensure that their team is appropriately taught and equipped to carry out their responsibilities.

Job Summary

To oversee the Accounting department for the Foodservice division in the UAE, as well as to maintain accurate daily financial records and to create monthly financial overviews.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Help internal and external auditors with their audits.

Accounting

  • Provide timely, accurate, and transparent accounting by business unit in accordance with international accounting standards in order to represent the real financial condition and produce a clean yearly audit report.
  • Monthly cost allocation, financial statements, and bank reconciliations, including foreign currency accounting, must be completed.
  • Ensure on time and accurate monthly closing of books of account
  • Establish controls in accordance with SOP to ensure that factsheets (A&P) are completely authorized, expenditure is kept within agreed-upon budgets, and supplier contributions are agreed upon and paid on time to safeguard margins.
  • Take charge of the yearly inventory audit and count.
  • Coordination and control of the quantification of stock count shortfalls and surpluses to maintain inventory correctness in our books of account.
  • Examine tax returns (VAT) to confirm their correctness.

Management of People and Leadership

  • Provide the team the training and guidance they need to complete their responsibilities and assignments.
  • Establish yearly goals for team members, make sure they are evaluated objectively, and give constant feedback.

Job requirements

  • 4 years of experience working as a Senior
  • Accountant at an FMCG/distribution firm.
  • At least one year of management accounting experience is required.
  • Finance Bachelor’s Degree
  • Professional financial qualifications, such as ACA, ACCA, CMA, or CPA.
  • Excel talents that are second to none
    JDE knowledge is recommended.
